I started out as a massage therapist in January 2010. Hubby and I went travelling in Thailand and found the most amazing small massage school where you had to massage 8 hours straight a day, eat healthy healthy food all day and wake and do yoga. We were hooked! We came home and quickly chose what we wanted to specialise in; for me it was pre and postnatal. I went on to do pregnancy and postnatal massage and deep tissue as my specialisms and we opened up a clinic called massagemuswellhill .
In 2014 we had our first son and I had a really nice hypnobirth but also haemorrhaged (still positive birth for me) and the whole process of childbirth did and does fascinate me so off I went to university in 2015 to train with the NCT as an antenatal teacher. I did my first year and then I took two years away as I was about to pop with our second son 👶.
Since then I’ve trained in hypnobirthing with the wonderful The Little Birth Company. I’ve done a new mother and baby course at the legendary @activebirthcentre and can’t wait to do more courses there; it is after all where the legendary Janet Balaskas teaches. Finally I start back with the NCT in September where I will do two more years: my first year training as an NCT breastfeeding counsellor and my second year becoming an advanced NCT antenatal teacher.
So that’s me! My boys are my pride and joy and my husband is my rock. But that’s little old me. I love what I do. I love meeting all the wonderful clients I have. I love the journey they and I go through together. I love seeing the love. Basically I am one of those rare people who can truly say I love my job. I may get tired and rundown a lot but I wouldn’t change it for the world ❤️
